    I prefer English lavender (has that old-fashioned scent I like), but French is nice too.

    I absolutely agree that there's nothing better than a good English lavender, preferably from an organically-grown cultivar. However, these can be relatively expensive, and it's sometimes good to have a reliable, reasonably-priced alternative, especially if you want to use a larger quantity in your blends.
